Light Steel Frame Dwelling

/ /

Our offsite specialist design team have recently completed an exciting residential project for a new light steel frame dwelling. Our client, Forefront Contractors asked us with detailing a whole range of elements, which included the load and non-load bearing walls, plus the external walls, for both the ground and first floors. They also required hot rolled steel support beams for the stairs, and a roof structure featuring a VELUX roof light opening and dormer windows.

Since TDS first began, we have gradually acquired an extensive portfolio of projects involving a range of light steel frame systems. We have experience in detailing numerous residential properties using these systems, which include several dwellings. Given our portfolio, our client felt confident in our abilities to complete the project to a high standard.

TDS’ light steel frame specialist, John Breeze, took the lead on this project and worked alongside our up-and-coming apprentice, Lexxi. As a senior member of our team, John enjoys passing on his expert knowledge to our younger members, and particularly enjoyed working with Lexxi on this project.

“I am very impressed with how Lexxi quickly picked up the details and her eagerness to learn. She was very motivated and driven, and gave every challenge a good go. She asked all the right questions which then gave her the ability to develop the model further.”

This project encompassed every aspect of what TDS is all about. We strive to promote modern construction methods, and in using such methods, we were able to produce the quality detailing required by our client in an efficient manner. The project also served as a fantastic opportunity for our apprentices to show what they can do, and with people like Lexxi joining our team, it looks to be an exciting future for our industry.
