Located in one of London’s most esteemed areas, the new neighbourhood of Chelsea Barracks is a prime example of the quality that can be achieved when talented individuals work together. This stunning collection of houses and apartments is in a prime location near to both Sloane Square and Knightsbridge, surrounded by high-class amenities and beautiful garden squares.
The architectural metalwork team here at TDS was tasked with detailing the stair balustrades to be used throughout the development. This involved 34 flights of well way balustrade and 37 flights of handrail, which will be featured in four separate buildings. All of the stairs needed to be laid out to suit site surveys, and we had to ensure that all elements achieved the high standard of quality expected of the development.
The well way balustrade consisted of mild steel posts with aluminium facia plates and infill bars, while the wall rails featured stainless steel handrails and brackets. This project had few complications, which made it the perfect opportunity for our apprentice, Lexxi Evans, to get involved and gain some experience in detailing architectural metalwork. Our team guided Lexxi through the project, and working together, we were able to finish the project with both accuracy and efficiency.
This project required an extremely high finish in order to maintain the quality that flows throughout the entire development. Our apprentice Lexxi did a fantastic job, and we look forward to seeing how her skills will develop in future projects.
