The Quad Station, Barnard Castle, is the result of a unique collaboration between four local emergency services in the north east of England. By amalgamating stations for Police, Fire, Ambulance and Mountain Rescue services in one place, the project aims to improve services for local people while also making budget savings by sharing the running costs of a single, combined location.
After a competitive tender, TDS were asked to provide detailing for a large number of architectural metalwork features for the Fire Service training building and quarters within the Quad Station. Our scope of works covered:
The demands of providing architectural metalwork for a building with the purpose of training Fire Service personnel came with exacting standards. We provided general arrangements for approval of the scope of works required and supplied detailed drawings for fabrication. In each case, for each aspect of the commission, meticulous care was taken to make sure it met with the exact specifications required by the emergency services and in doing so, we played our part in ensuring the public services budget was used effectively.
