The construction industry, as many others, contracted on a huge scale with the downturn in the economy. But as the economy picks up, confidence has been hit hard and very little is being re-invested into growth, predominantly, there is a lack of skills in the industry as a whole. The knock on effect is very clear, despite the growth predictions; the industry is not equipped to keep up.

71% agree BIM is the future, and one thing was clear: 71 per cent agreed that BIM is the future of project information, with nearly 40 per cent now using BIM. Worryingly, however, many of these professionals were unaware of the different levels of BIM, even though Level 2 will be mandatory for all government projects by the end of 2016. And only a third were confident in their BIM ability.
