2018 Tees Off with the T Levels

There’s two things we’re all very excited about at TDS right now: one is this year’s rolling out of a new technical qualification, the T Levels, the other is that our Technical Director, James McNee, will be directly involved in developing content for the courses.

James has been appointed as a panel member of the Manufacturing and Engineering: Design, Development and Control T Level. His role will see him advise on the course outline, ahead of its official development, alongside representatives from Autodesk, Rolls Royce, Manchester University, Liverpool John Moores University, Royal Academy of Engineering, British Marine, Silverstone UTC and Sheffield UTC.

We’re very proud of his prestigious new role, we can’t think of a more appropriate candidate. James started his career as an apprentice draughtsperson and over a 20-year career has worked his way up to being TDS Technical Director, with responsibility for delivering our contribution to some of the country’s most prestigious buildings and infrastructure projects.

Training is a subject close to us all at TDS; with almost half of our staff starting as apprentices, as a company we’re great advocates of training that produces job-ready students. As the equivalent of A Levels, the T Levels will offer high quality learning, with substantial work placement, and provide a technical education every bit as rigorous and respected as an academic one. We can’t wait to be part of it!
